2013 Confucius Institute Asian Joint Conference was
held on May 29 in the capital of Cambodian Phnom Penh, Cambodian Prime
Minister, Hunsen and Director of Hanban, Madam XuLin attended the opening
ceremony. Kathmandu University registrar Prof. Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar
and Prof. Dr. Wang Shengli attended the conference.
The conference's main theme is to implement “Development Plan of
Confucius Institute (2012-2020)”. It consists of four topics: (1)
Implementation of the missions and targets set for 2015 in the Development
Plan of CI; (2) Reinforcing the building of Confucius Institute teachers’
team; (3) Preparation of activities for the 10th Anniversary of Confucius
Institute in 2014; (4) Implementation of the “Confucius China Study
Plan”.
During the conference, representatives from CIKU reported the work of
CIKU to Hanban leaders and officials, who said they are satisfied with
the current state of CIKU, and timely "Window to CIKU" is conducive
to the Confucius Institute Headquarters to learn and understand latest
development of CIKU.
Currently our Confucius Institute has fixed curriculum, and teachers also
have their own tasks, all teachers have made their corresponding syllabus
and teaching schedule. More than 160 KU students are taught Chinese, with
the beginning of new semester, more graduate students and undergraduate
students will be benefit from learning Chinese in CIKU.
