On June 14, CIKU held graduation ceremony for the first elementary media Chinese training class in Press Council, Nepal.
The class was organized by CIKU, under strong support from Chinese Embassy and Nepal-China Media Forum. Zhang Bing, first Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, handed over the certificates. Twenty-one Nepali journalists received certificates after completing the first level of Chinese language class.
Chinese language instructor Wu Hui said Nepali journalists should be able to read Chinese newspapers and receive information from primary sources.
Chairman of the Nepal-China Media Forum Kishor Shrestha said such classes will strengthen friendship between Nepal and China. Shrestha said journalists from different cities, including Pokhara, are also eager to learn Chinese.
