Delegation of Tibet Autonomous Region Government Visit CIKU
 
 

November 29, CIKU elatedly welcomed the delegation of Tibetan Departments of Education, Culture and Social Sciences led by Mr. Meng Deli, Vice-Chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region Government. Mr. Meng Deli Happily visited exhibition of works done by CIKU's students, computer room and library, cordially gave his greetings to volunteer teachers and met with Mr. Ha Lishi, Chairman of China-Nepal Cultural Education Association.
"Meeting with you everyone is just like meeting relatives in a foreign country", said Mr. Meng Deli. His words vividly described our excitement. He asked in depth about the background of CIKU's establishment, operating mechanism, composition of student etc, showing his strong interest in CIKU. He said, "We attaches great importance to the issue of overseas students to Tibet, and we explores actively personnel training program with Nepal. We encourage CIKU to transport talented students to Tibet University studying literature, art and other majors. In addition, Tibet has a long border with Nepal, so both sides have high academic values in areas of special natural and geographical environment at the junction, frequent economic and trade exchanges, close cultural exchanges etc. Tibet Academy of Social Sciences is willing to develop a cooperative research with CIKU."Miss Wuhui in detail introduced CIKU's situation, and she indicated that CIKU has been actively seeking cooperation with domestic universities and research institutions to carry out educational and research programs, making efforts to make a contribution to the exchanges of education and culture between the two countries.
As the sole Confucius Institute in Nepal and the bridge of culture and friendship between two countries, CIKU positively shouldered its mission. The visit of Mr. Meng Deli makes CIKU a deeper connection with Tibet in culture and education. After its six-year baptism of wind and rain, CIKU's station as cultural ties between the two countries has been widely recognized by many sects both in China and Nepal.
