-->>Nepal's first Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University held a grand unveiling ceremony

(Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University,June 13)?aApproved by China National Officer for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language co-established by Hebei University of Economics and Business held a grand unveiling ceremony at the School of Management in Kathmandu University on June,13.

Chinese ambassador Zheng Xianglin ,Minister of Education Mr. Pradip in Nepal, the Deputy director of the Department of Education of Hebei Pr ovince, Mr.Zhai Haihun, the President of Hebei University of Economics and Business, Ms.Wang Ying, Vice Chancellor of the Kathmandu University,Suresh Raj Sharma, delivered speeches respectively at the opening ceremony.

Mr. Ambassador stressed in his speech that Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University symbolizes the in-depth development of the traditional Sino-Nepal friendship, the cooperative achievements in the field of culture and education, and with joint efforts of both sides, Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University will definitely become the tie and bridge to enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

Minister of Nepalese Education, Mr.Pradip Nepal, pointed out in his speech that the mutual trust in politics and economic cooperation enable more and more people to learn Chinese language and understand China, which will strengthen the friendly non-governmental exchanges between two countries.

Deputy director of the Department of Education of Hebei Province, Mr.Zhai Haihun said that the University should not only inherit and develop the excellent traditional national culture,but also commits itself to the communication and exchanges between different cultures,and promote the prosperity and development of human civilization.The Confucius Institute is a new form for the Chinese Universities including Hebei University of Economics and Business to promote Chinese language and culture, to boost cultural exchanges between China and other countries and to enhance the understanding between different cultures.

The President of Hebei University of Economics and Business, Ms.Wang Ying, pointed out that in the increasingly tight economic and cultural ties between China and the world, the most direct obstacle is not the geography ,transport and technology, but the language and cultural barrier.She said that the Confucius Institute is an international network of Chinese language learning center base, an important platform for the continuous deepening of educational cooperation and exchange between China and other countries, and a bridge to span economic and cultural exchanges for China with the world."We will together with Kathmandu University,through multilevel, all-round cooperation and exchanges such as Chinese language training, Chinese teacher training, Chinese speech contests,co-development of teaching material and Courseware, Chinese language teaching seminars, strive to make Confucius Institute become an advanced Chinese teaching base in Nepal and an important channel for Sino-Nepalese exchanges. "
Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Suresh Raj Sharma, said, the Chinese government has established sister relationships with foreign universities in many countries through the establishment of Confucius Institute." We also hope to cooperate with Chinese Universities in the same way
Now, we have been on the way.He said that in the age of the economic globalization boosted by the advanced science and technology including information technology,Universities can play a significant role in the evolution of economic development.He appreciated the support and encouragement of the Chinese government for Kathmandu University,and the positive cooperation of Hebei University of Economics and Business.

It is reported that the established Confucius Institute will become a kernel institution for Chinese language teaching in Nepal and for the promotion of Chinese culture.
