In Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management

November 12, 2009, Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University hold a Chinese Language and Culture Orientation program in Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management. Mr. Fan Fuoping, the culture Chief of Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the representatives from Nepal Tourism Board, the faculties and students of NATHM over 150 people attended the program. Mr. Fan Guoping give a inspiring speech. He said, “The shortage of Chinese language talents in Nepal has been the bottle-neck that restrict the Chinese tourists to Nepal. The Chinese language program starts in NATHM will break open the bottle-neck and meet the needs of more and more Chinese tourists to Nepal.

Dr. Li Wanxian, the director of Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University gave the Chinese course introduction. He summarized the Chinese language course with three words: Membership, Scholarship and Friendship. Once the students selected Chinese language program, they will become a member of Confucius Institute and take the responsibility to learn Chinese well and get the scholarship for further study in China so as to make contribution to the friendship between China and Nepal.
