Students from CIKU attended Chinese
Language and Culture Dayl held by Arniko Association

February 16th, 2008)
Students from Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University participated
in “Chinese Language and Culture Day” held by Cultural
Division of Chinese Embassy in Nepal in “Little Angels’
School” and got excellent result.
The activity consists of Speech, Painting, Calligraphy, Chinese
Knowledge and Chinese Acquirements. Three teachers from Confucius
Institute at Kathmandu University participated and took in charge
the preparation and organization of all the contests. Under the
general guidance and direction Cultural Division of Chinese Embassy,
23 Universities and Schools including World Cultural Net, Confucius
Institute at Kathmandu University, International Language Institute
from Tribhuvan University, and schools where volunteer Chinese
teachers are working with participated. Chinese Ambassador, Cultural
Counsellor, Business Counsellor, Nepalese Minister of Culture
and Nepalese Minister of Education were at present and watched
the performance.
Students from Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University took
part in all the contests. With the teachers’ cautious assistance
and direction, the students showed themselves in an excellent
way, and won Silver Prize in Speech and Painting, Bronze Prize
in Acquirement, Speech, Comic Chinese Dialogues and Calligraphy.
Through these contests, the students practiced what they have
learnt and acquired more, and their interests in Chinese Language
and Culture were strongly stimulated.
