Nepali students and their Chinese teachers from the Confucius
Institute at Kathmandu University (CIKU) celebrated the Chinese New Year,
Spring Festival, at Budhanilkantha on Saturday. More than 280 participants
took part in the Chinese Spring Festival celebration. They included high-level
officials from KU, Arniko Society and representatives from various ministries
and academic institutions.
CIKU Director Prof. Bao Deyuan shed light on the importance of the Spring
Festival. This year's Spring Festival will start from January 23. She
also extended her New Year greetings to all those present at the gathering.
Prof. Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar, Registrar of KU, said more Nepali students
have started joining CIKU to learn about the Chinese language and culture.
CIKU students and teachers presented a variety of Chinese dances and sang
songs and recited poems.
