[On November 15, 2008] Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University held the first Weekend Talk Program after the long Nepalese festival holiday at KUSOM of Kathmandu University. The purpose of this activity is to provide a platform for those who are interested to know Chinese language and culture. More than 30 people attended this activity. The main purpose of this Chinese Talk Program is to make aware of similarities and differecnes between Chinese and Nepalese culture. The participants attended from different professions, such as teachers, students, professors, tourists and business men. They said they spent an interesting morning at the Confucius institute, not only practiced their spoken Chinese but also made some friends in different areas.
