CIKU Development Plan (Discussion Paper)
 
 

According to the Vice-chancellor Mr. Shrestha’s instructions and for the implementation of the Confucius Institute Development Plan (2012-2020), CIKU released a 2013-2015 development plan (discussion paper). The plan announces that the Confucius Institute's main task is to carry out Chinese language teaching, train local Chinese teachers, conduct Chinese language level and ability exams, work on traditional and contemporary Chinese cultural studies, organize Chinese cultural exchange activities on business, art, medicine, martial arts, cooking, etc. and promote China-Nepal friendly exchanges.
CIKU has formed a school-running mode of "one institute with four classrooms", covering major cities and key areas of Nepal and has a total of 1,688 students. In the next two years, CIKU will actively carry out various cultural activities, strengthen the development of teachers, improve school conditions, expand services, strengthen and standardize teaching management. Our aim is to set up Chinese language compulsory subject, Chinese major and Chinese Teacher major course for undergraduate, to construct specialty and scientific research in business and service, to be an outstanding Confucius Institutes worldwide. The new development plan will guide the work of CIKU.
